I don't drink soda, but I'll make an exception and have a Dr. Pepper to celebrate the new album. As far as what Kyle said... My theory about the album is that there will not be an actual CD but rather we have to work to get the songs that are "accidentally" leaked. That would be the ultimate album, one that has no hard copy and is just out there for the truest fans.

Axl...I once called in the local radio station for 4 hours a day for three weeks to get them to play what I thought was the official single of "Better". After hours of calling in and them saying they were gonna play it...they finally played....as it turns out it was not the single but rather the demo...I wouldn't have called a station that many times for ANY other band's music...

I used to work on the promenade drawing comic books and axl almost opened the door for me, once. It was one of those time lock corridors next to woolworths, and he managed to get in and when I went up to the door it was locked. There was probably a 5 second 'standoff' where I think he was contemplating opening the door, but he went out the other entrance. I saw him once at this toy store there too, on the promenade, and I wisely started saying 'aaaxxl" like kurt cobain did at the mtv music awards. :) "axl give me a dollar!" I said.
I'm probably lucky I didn't get my ass kicked! GNR is pretty awesome though!

Kyle happens to be very right: there has always been a certain amount of code in the GNR camp and the GNR fanbase. Anyone who doesn't know that, as he said, probably has not been in the fanbase very long. With that statement, Axl said two things: 1) Buckethead is on the album (the obvious), and 2) ChiDem, Axl predicts, will indeed be out in '08. However, as someone on HTGTH said, we shouldn't read too deeply into that or take it as a "promise".

there is no doubt in my mind that this album is gonna be the greatest album among al gnr fans axl has never put out anything dissapointing even the songs meant as filler on the other albums were greater than any other bands biggest hits music is my number one passion and it has been a very dissapointing time for music week in and week out we are subjected to crap it has been like 8 monts since anything new has come out worth listening to with the exception of seether and a couple others so to axl i say please let it be this year please give us a reason to believe in music again but if it isnt this year then know that we all still believe in you and will wait as long as we have to
Songs like IRS and Madagascar will be so popular! Fans of old GNR will eat it up, because it sounds so much like the band we know and love. Younger fans will flock to nuGNR because of their super-sexy use of fancy new synth technology. This will be FUCKING AWESOME!

Well considering the crap thet VR put out in those albums, I am suprised they aren't on their 5th album by now.
Axl rose worked on the song November rain for almost 15 years before it was released on a album...most of the Illusion songs where writted WELL BEFORE apetitie came out..and where perfected over the years prior to release. The New Album will no doubt blow away any expectations - its not about # of albums that makes a band great or songs memorable...its quality. VR sucks. Their songs are interesting for a week at best. Do you ever get tired of any GNR song? Have you heard the new demos? Would you like a Dr. Pepper?

Really is that so....so what exactly would you call the fact that everytime I go to a sporting event TODAY I hear Welcome to the Jungle...Paradise City...and the crowd goes crazy...everytime I go to a club TODAY..Sweet Child O Mine still puts everyone in the best state of mind.

Wow...this sounds like such a PR scam between GNR, DP, and the agency Ketchum. Don't get me wrong, it's catchy and intriguing and all. But why Dr. Pepper all of a sudden aligning itself with GNR? I'm all for the release. Sounds like it could be a great album. But the "pressure" and response from Axl seems contrived. Especially the "If there is any involvement with this promotion by our record company or others, we are unaware of such at this time." Does that sound like Axl or a requirement from the companies' legal departments?

The concept of "GUNS N ROSES" is more than just band members...its emotions evoked by the music produced...there have been different members over the years on drums and guitar - sure not a lead replacing slash in the 90s - but changes where made and seats were always filled...why..one reason...the anchor in everything that is GUNS N ROSES...is AXL ROSE...as much as I love Slash and think he is "cool" - Buckethead showed how technically superior he was when he teared slash's solos to pieces - could he have written them as well - maybe not - and could the new guitarist hold up to that standard - time will tell - but the one key element that is and always will be GNR...AXL ROSE...is there and singing BETTER than ever! Anyone who has seen any of the recent shows knows this. The new songs are AMAZING...Better and The Blues are as good as anything the old GNR ever did - and I am dying to hear studio and live versions of Catcher in the Rye...all of these songs are better than ANYTHING that has been released on the charts in the last 15 years.
Thankfully Doctor Pepper will help bring this much anticipated album to us ASAP...and AXL will be vindicated by the one thing that matters most...his music
...and in other Earth-shattering news, Mr. Pibb is lobbying for the reformation of the original Pink Floyd. Tour dates are rumored to be forthcoming!
I've seen GnR three times since Axl started performing the Chi-Dem songs in 2002, and all I can say is that the new songs are better than practically anything that's been on rock radio for the past 5-10 years. Axl is a one-of-a-kind talent, and the only one out there right now capable of starting a rock revolution. Thanks, Dr. Pepper for needling the issue.

Oh, I forgot to add something for all the skeptics: when you hear some of the Chinese Democracy songs and when you see the new members in action, they WILL blow you away, guaranteed. The songs are great and the band is hot. You will love them just as much (if not more) than the classics. I've never looked more forward for the release of an album!
