Chinese Democracy finished? Was it the soda?

NME is reporting today that Axl Rose has handed over Chinese Democracy to the record label...We've heard rumors like this before and we won't believe it until the man himself confirms it...But if this is true, it will go down in history alongside these other memorable deliveries:

  • 1446 BC: Moses delivers the ten commandements to his people; all sin in the world ceases for 30 seconds.

  • June 28, 2000: Elián González is delivered back to Cuba; US/Cuba relations suffer more than Bear Sterns shareholders.

  • August 17, 1998:President Clinton delivers new meaning to the word "is"; everybody but Clinton "is" confused.

If this news is true, it means we're one step closer to having everyone in America (minus Slash and Bucket) sipping a cold Dr Pepper. Come on Axl, now is the time!

I think it's pretty clear the Dr. Pepper people are new on the Axl bandwagon. We've heard this time and time again for years... I'm not holding my breath. If I had a dime for every time a major site announced a release date or claimed it's done I'd have a few bills in my hand. At least your putting more pressure on him communicate with the public I suppose.

The leaks last year sounded fucking amazing, and im not just saying that because im a hardcore fan. I've played the songs many times in large crowds, and almost every time, someone asked me "Hey dude, that song was fucking awesome, where can i get it?"

I don't know what leaks you're listening to, but the ones i have sound amazing. (the leaks i have are Chinese Democracy, There was a Time (2 versions), Better (2 versions), The Blues, and Madagascar)

It should be pointed out that NME.com is the same site that reported that Led Zeppelin was headlining Bonnaroo this year.

Approximate US population is 303,868,496. Estimated production cost of a can of Dr Pepper is US$0.50. If two thirds of the people in the US (approx 18,250,360 people) took up Dr Pepper on their free can, going by these rough guess estimates, it would cost the company about US$9,125,180.00.
Paying Axl and Geffen to convince them to wait til 09 to release Chinese Democracy IF IT IS FINISHED: my guess is $70 000 but what do I know. They might do it for nothing.
Paying Axl and Geffen to convince them to wait til 09 to release Chinese Democracy IF IT IS NOT FINISHED: $0.00 (far more likely)
Setting up a website and promotions to capture the imagination of the world and sell a sh!tload of soda while going for that urban rock n roll image and appealing to the cool of today: Priceless.
Anyone who thinks they're getting a free soda is delusional. But maybe I'm just bitter cos I live in Australia. Slash and Buckethead can come see me, I'll buy em a Bundy.

It makes one wonder, jaz, may be for some reason Dr.Peper is SURE, that record wont come out this year........ And it is a good publicity
